Welcome To OCFS

At Overland Children and Family Services (OCFS), I believe that understanding a child begins with looking beyond the behavior. Children communicate what they are experiencing in many ways, and sometimes their behavior speaks before they have the words to explain what is happening.

OCFS provides individualized therapy for children experiencing challenges related to ADHD and neurodivergence, emotional regulation, anxiety, trauma, attachment, life changes, and family relationships. Treatment is developmentally appropriate and may incorporate play therapy, CBT, Theraplay-informed interventions, TF-CBT, EMDR, mindfulness, and other evidence-based approaches based on your child's individual needs.

Parents are an important part of the process. Through ongoing collaboration and parent coaching, I help caregivers better understand their child's perspective, strengthen the parent-child relationship, and develop practical ways to support their child beyond the therapy room.

Some of our specialties

Behaviors

“Attack the behaviors, not the kid.” This is my motto when helping children with ADHD and related neurodivergent behaviors. Challenges with emotional regulation, impulsivity, frustration tolerance, routines, and follow-through can affect the entire family. Treatment focuses on helping your child better understand their brain, build self-regulation skills, and develop practical strategies that work for them. Parent coaching is incorporated throughout treatment to help caregivers better understand their child’s needs, respond effectively to challenging behaviors, and strengthen the parent-child relationship.

Attachment

Strong relationships help children thrive. Attachment-informed treatment focuses on strengthening the connection between children and their caregivers. I work collaboratively with parents to better understand their child’s perspective, recognize the needs that may be underneath challenging behaviors, and develop interactions that promote connection, trust, and emotional safety. When appropriate, I incorporate Theraplay-informed activities and other attachment-based interventions to help strengthen the parent-child relationship

Trauma

Trauma can affect how children experience safety, manage emotions, and understand themselves and the world around them. Trauma can also overlap with attachment concerns and neurodivergence, making it important to understand what may be underneath a child’s behavior.    Treatment is individualized to each child’s needs. I use evidence-based approaches including TF-CBT and EMDR, along with play-based and attachment-informed interventions, to help children process difficult experiences, strengthen coping skills, and rebuild a sense of safety and connection.
